Artist Residency in Italy

Taking a break today from working in the studio (first and only day to take off-- for my birthday)...
A sneak pic at the two series painting suites I am working on here in Italy---works on paper.
Here are two images from the first series of roughly 40 paintings that I completed from scratch while here at the MIRA Residency (http://miraresidency.com/).

These two images are part of a larger series (completed) that are spatial constructions here reacting to the local architecture, color, and pattern of Puglia region of Italy. They are 15"x22" with acrylic on paper using hand cut stencils.

The other series I am working on here (is larger at 22"x30") with acrylic on a paper using washes and stencils. The motivation behind this work is a more experiential response to the Italian visual culture, sort of a poetics of mere glimpses.... here is some in progress (out of 25 pieces so far)
